About me …

My name is Katherine Cameron. I provide trauma-informed, non-judgemental counselling in a safe space where your experience is heard, believed and respected. Alongside my private practice, I am a volunteer counsellor at Lifeline Northern Beaches supporting vulnerable people in our community. I am passionate about supporting people through their most difficult times. You do not have to face your struggles alone.

My approach is person-centred, recognising that you are a unique individual. I am trained in EMDR and IFS, but weave many different theories (eg. attachment theory) and modalities (eg CBT, ACT, self-compassion) into my work, guided by your needs and wants.

If you are eligible for VS funding or WC insurance, please let me know on booking.

What to Expect …

  • An initial assessment to understand your needs, strengths and goals

  • A confidential space where disclosure is at your comfort level

  • Clear discussion of therapy options, timeframes and goals

  • Respect for cultural, gender and sexual diversity, and awareness of intersectional issues that affect healing

How I work …

  • Trauma-informed: I use approaches that prioritise safety, choice and collaboration, recognising how trauma affects the body, emotions and relationships

  • Non-judgemental and compassionate: you set the pace. I hold space without blame, minimising re-traumatisation and validating your feelings

  • Practical and skills-based: alongside processing trauma, I teach grounding, emotion regulation and coping strategies you can use between sessions

  • Tailored to you: therapy plans are individualised — whether you need short-term support or ongoing therapy
